intraVnews relies on the default security mechanisms in Outlook for protection against viruses or otherwise potentially malicious code.
HTML content is rendered by Outlook. Images and other linked content start downloading when an item is opened.
You can add feed authors to the Safe Senders list to automatically download images in Outlook 2003.
When a link is clicked, the target content is loaded in the default browser.
All international character sets including double-byte character sets are supported.

intraVnews conserves bandwidth by only retrieving content if the feed is not modified since the last time it was checked. (If-modified-since).
A smart scheduling engine reschedules a feed based on scheduling information provided by the feed author or publisher (TTL, UpdateBase)
Due to the nature of the Internet, errors sometimes occur. intraVnews will reschedule an update at various intervals and with an optimal frequency to minimize impact on the server and maximize chance of obtaining new items as soon as they become available.
When a feed is moved to a different server, intraVnews automatically updates the link for you.
Support gzip/deflate compression. intraVnews requests compressed feeds, if available.

You can use intraVnews to publish new items to your web log (blog) or any other destination.

Use any plugin that is compatible with NewsGator (as long as it supports IBlogExtension).
Multiple plugins can be configured. They can be located in any folder on your hard disk.

intraVnews is fully multithreaded. Generally this means that Outlook is always available for you to do real work. While intraVnews works in the background, you can compose email and access all other functionality in Outlook. FutureGlue has made great efforts to minimize the impact on your productivity when you want to work and have to rely on Outlook. Multithreading also means that intraVnews itself can do many things simultaneously and with great efficiency.

When intraVnews is removed, all files created on the hard disk are removed. Optionally, your settings and subscriptions can be kept.
You can upgrade intraVnews without having to uninstall the previous version.
